Well, another successful week has ended, and here are the updates:
In math, we have been working on subtraction with regrouping/borrowing. We finished up the week regrouping across zeros. We will continue this concept into next week so that we can get this idea down pat.
In language arts, we learned about a colonial family that built a house based on what their house was like in England. We found out that they had to make many structural changes to the house to withstand the harsh New England climate. An open-book test was given on Thursday. A spelling test was also given on the skill words for this week as usual.
Social studies has been spent learning about colonial and pioneer-era America. We were fortunate enough to take a field trip to historic Ward-Meade Park in Topeka on Friday. Look for a virtual tour video posted online when I get it edited this weekend! I'll be sure to send out an e-mail on the updates! Thank you for all you do for your children. Parent/teacher conferences went very well this week and I look forward to continuing the positive communication throughout the school year!
Have a great weekend!
