First off, my apologies for not sending out a Memo last week! Being gone to a conference made my mind wander off course!
This week was a BIG week for the 3rd graders as we finished our Kansas State Reading Assessments on Thursday. I must say, ALL the students worked their tails off and their efforts showed! I am very proud of their hard work. Results were given to the students yesterday by Mr. Sturgeon, so a note should have been shown to you by your child, since it was placed in their planners. Next week, we will resume in our Reading Street book with a story titled Jalapeno Bagels.
In Math, we have been working on measurement and probability. We will continue with probability next week, along with mixed review of math problems they need to be sure to solve on the Kansas State Math Assessment when they return after Spring Break.
In science, we have continued our studies of physical science with electricity and how to make a simple circuit. A bright greet packet of paper was also sent home on Tuesday this week regarding the upcoming science fair. Please see to it that your child doesn't put this project off until the last minute, or their grade and chances of learning something from it will suffer! If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
Have a great weekend,
