In math this upcoming week, we will be learning more Common Core math standards with advanced area and perimeter skills. By the end of the week, we will be creating some art that will include figuring area and perimeter of Spring-themed pictures that they design with construction paper. Measurement tools will be used for sure!
Reading has been a time to focus on Unit 6, our last unit in Reading Street. It is a compilation of stories regarding Freedom. Next week's story is titled Happy Birthday, Mr. Kang. It is about a man that moves to America from Asia and although he misses his home country, he is also fond of his new freedom in his new country.
Science time has been spent learning about different states of matter. We will continue with this next week. Following these lessons, we will learn about how light, heat, and sound travel. Weather patterns will conclude our science lessons out of the book. To finalize the school year, the third graders will be working on a Biome project that will be a culmination of research and art. This will be then turned into a digital presentation that can be shown to the elementary school the last week. I am currently finding ways to put the presentations on the website!
Enjoy your wonderful weekend,
