This week has "rocked!" In reading, we read a biography about a man who made his life-long hobby his job. A test was given on Thursday on this along with the weekly spelling test.
In Math, we have been learning about fact families and the meaning of division. Next week we will start in on fractions with parts of a whole, followed by fractions on a number line and mixed fractions. We will be spending a few weeks on this skill. A letter was sent home today reminding parents of the banana split party for multiplication facts. We are asking for $1 donations so we can pick up the ingredients needed for this party. Be sure to ask your child how many facts 0-10's they've mastered. Each fact is worth a specific topping!
In science, we have been learning about rocks and minerals, as it goes along with the reading story this week. Students have been bringing in their own collections to share along side the multitudes of rocks from my own collection.
A reminder that there is no school next Monday, and the reading and spelling tests will be given on Friday instead of Thursday.
Have a wonderful weekend,
