In science this week, we have continued with chapter one, which is about plant needs and life cycles. There will be a chapter test next week. A review sheet will be sent home prior to the test. It will also be open-book.
In language arts, we have read a fable titled What About Me? This boy is looking to find knowledge and doesn't know where to get it. He eventually finds out that knowledge comes from many sources and that all people have needs. A test was given online on Friday along with their spelling test.
In math, we have continued in chapter 1 with adding multiple numbers by using the Associative Property of Addition, which we've learned is also the "grouping property." Example: (12 + 23) + 43 = ___. Students choose which numbers they want to group together to add. We will continue with chapter one for a few more weeks before a test is taken online.
Please keep signing those planners and being aware of when tests are. They are written in their planners each week, along with spelling words. Tests will be given on Thursdays in reading and spelling, unless otherwise noted.
Thanks for all you do,
